Bug in some files!!

Well, I believe that this problem happens to many users .. adding some files (mostly mp3) bitrate is appearing wrong, eg a file in 320 kbps shows 128. Has files that does not appear in the folders, ie, when log in slsk, some files are add and others not!

In version NS shows new files that were added in the folders, In Qt version doesn't appear absolutely nothing, how know if the file was attached or not?

Another thing I did not like the Qt version, did not understand the reason for this .. to access the share itself must be using another IP ^ ^

The developers of the program is able to make these corrections, Qt is still leaving much to be desired.

Thanks for attention and sorry my english :)

Which files aren't appearing under SoulseekQt?

Regarding the connection problem, I've had something similar happen to me when I changed routers. I used to be able to browse my own files no problem with SoulseekQt, then I changed routers a little while a go and I was no longer able to do so. I figured out it was a problem with the router, but looking at it again there's no such problem with the original Soulseek client, so I'm really not sure what the problem is. The connection is just flat out refused, which makes me think it might be a problem with Qt sockets. I may have to wireshark the connection attempt, or maybe try a later version of the Qt library and see if that makes a difference.

Scratch that. Not being able to connect to yourself through your public address appears to be normal unless your router adds some of its own address translation magic. I now remember that the original client gets around this by recording your own address as localhost. I modified SoulseekQt to do the same and you should be able to browse yourself without any problems in the next version.

I know about that 320/128 problem (which was already present in old SlskNG) and I can also reproduce it here. Yes, it's often displayed wrongly (very often), and I am about sure meanwhile that it's due to certain encoders used (because it happens with some, with some others it doesn't)

Sometimes (not always!) you can "cure" this at least in your shared files by rebuilding the MP3 stream using foobar2000 (available on Windows only). However, of course you will cause the files to get altered, so users that already have a partial folder downloaded off you from last session will be forced to start from scratch again. Remember, computers are dumb and they will treat every file in the folder as "new" (no matter if only 5 bytes were changed).

Hi there,

I used to have this issue with only the old NS client, but I've not had one error since using the Qt client. All MP3 files are accurate, and they always queue smoothly. Also, sometimes files may appear in a share but the user hasn't refreshed maybe so they may have been moved and /or deleted.

But, in general, the MP3 320/128kbps issue should be a non-issue once you fully migrate to the Qt client. From my experience.

The problem with Bitrates and times showing up wrong information in your shares has been an age old problem with SoulseekNS.
The problem only happens when you change or edit the ID tags,i use wi9namp and always get the same problem.
Solution:- download the free version program DBPoweramp and re encode the files to there original Bitrate.Do not re encode to a higher bitrate than the original file as this may effect the audio in your file,so if you know your file is @192kbps but its showing 128 or 64 just re encode to 192.After this log out of soulseek and when you log back in your file/s will so the correct bitrate and time.Doing this does not effect the audio quality as long as you re encode to its original bitrate.Anyhow it works for me.Hope this helps
