Soulseek Mac UI Freezing

I looked around to see if this was already a problem, but I didn't find much.

I have the most recent Mac SoulseekQT.

Typically the client works fine for a few minutes. After attempting to do a few things or after I start downloading, the UI freezes.

The program acts as if it's still running. For example, if I leave the frozen client open, the downloads continue-- only the UI is frozen. I am unable to click on anything in the program.

The client does not fully crash, it remains open with the frozen UI, and therefore I am unable to send a crash report or error report upon closing. I can still close the program just fine without a crash.

What can be done about this problem?

Thanks.

what version are you using ?

10.5. I noticed after making this thread that there's 11.6 now. I downloaded that version to see if that would fix it, but that one won't even open-- it merely crashes upon opening.

try to make a clean install of Soulseek, and configure it back from scratch.

on OSX system how do I do a clean install of Soulseek?

I have exactly same problem. And clean install does not work ..... probably some leftovers in the system .... but where?

So, with this problem, I still use version 10.5 because it is the only one that will slightly work before the UI freezes. The UI still freezes but it functions in the background.

Upon trying the two newer versions of Soulseek, the program simply crashes upon opening, and nothing happens except the error report each time. I gave each new version a clean install.

Which version of OSX are you using?

Nogt sure when my issue started but was a ab out a month back. Maybe when I updated OSX to latest version,OS X 10.9.2 (13C64).

I miss Soulseek.

OS X 10.9.2 (13C64) running Soulseek when running Search either crashes or sits idle ...

Thanks.

Can you post a crash report?

I have the most recent Mac SoulseekQT, when I open it (it was a clean install) there is this frozen UI, wherever i click there is no reaction but the system-chosen sound for "error/cant click here".
why is that?

See here for a possible fix: http://www.soulseekqt.net/news/node/2724

I sometimes have the same problem. But it's very rare. Maybe every week once or twice. OSX 10.9.5 here.
