Where's "get place in line"

The old Soulseek client had a "get place in line" option in the transfers view so I could check how far in the queue I am. Doesn't SoulseekQT have this option?

SoulseekQt attempts to automatically retrieve that information when you queue new downloads and then periodically every ten minutes.

Thanks for the explanation. Why is this information not shown for some files?

Well, I recently discovered there was a problem with requesting the place in line for each download as soon as it was queued. Often the request would arrive before the uploader has a chance to properly register the new upload and so no place in line would be returned. Past that point, place in line would be requested again about every ten minutes to keep the information up to date, and while the initial request would often fail for said reason, subsequent requests usually work. To combat that I've introduced a delay between the queue and place in line requests in the latest build which appears to be working much better as far as I can tell. Place in line information should generally arrive within 30 seconds of queuing a download.

I recently installed SoulseekQT, for some reason it will sometimes get the place in line upon downloading a file with a number under the "Free" column in the search results (I assume this is the queue count for that user), other times it won't get a place in line at all. I usually leave Soulseek running all the time, or at least over night, and if it does not get the place in line at the beginning, it does not get it at all. Also if a user I am downloading from goes offline, when they come back on, I won't get a update of my queue status. This is a very handy feature I always used back in the days I used Soulseek a few years ago, is there anything I can do to get it working?

On a note, I am on a cable modem connection with a "shared" IP address, therefore I do not have access to open ports on my router, could this be attributing to the problem?

Which SoulseekQt build are you using?

Version: SoulseekQt-8-5-2012

Also, if the user i am downloading from goes offline, then comes back, the downloads never seem to start up again, even if i click on retry.

I would also like to know where I can donate, and what the advantages are, thanks!

Hello, i'm still not sure what to do about this, please advise when available, thanks!

I remember back in the day when we could get in line for files. I haven't used Soulseek in many years and just downloaded it again today. I don't see how to get in line and I can't even tell if any of the music I downloaded is actually downloading. This new format is going to take some getting used to for sure.
