Login failed.

Hi,

I seem to have a little problem with Loggin on... I get the following message: Login failed. Reported failure reason: socket error. Please change your login settings in the Options tab and try reconnecting.

Thank you very much.

Kind regards,

Esther

Can you log in with the original Soulseek client?

Hi ! I have the same problem with the login. What should I do ?

Who's your ISP? Are you able to connect with any other Soulseek client?

About a week ago I became completely unable to connect to SlSk NS. Then I decide to try QT and no matter what, it shows the message stated above. I asked one of my friends to try it as well. I worked fine for him. He has the same internet provider as me, so I'm pretty sure this problem has nothing to do with provider. And I didn't do any changes in my connection preferences since I installed Slsk.

See this thread, we're trying to collect as much information as we can about connection problems.

Thanks, Nir

It wont let me connect with other members to share music

I have been reading the posts on connection issues others have encountered with Soulseek and I am having similar problems. After having successfully connected and using SoulSeek-QT for the past year with no problems, all of a sudden my listening ports just closed all by themselves and I cannot re-open them. Not only that but SoulSeek does not allow me to login either using the same password and same login name I have had unchanged for well over a year. I get this message every time I open the program up: "Login failed. The password you supplied does not match your username. Please change your login settings in the Options tab and try reconnecting." Then if that is not bad enough all the settings I had in the past have been completely erased and are non existent such as my User list, download and upload settings/locations, all current files I have been downloading, wish list etc... everything just wiped out. This all happened right after I downloaded an upgrade to my Windows 7 - Windows Live Essentials update. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not?? Has anyone experienced the same issue as me??
