Hey I just want to start this off by saying thank you for this nice new QT Client edition and its nice work. ALso its amazing that you now have Linux platform support so kudos on that, and the client works amazing on Arch Linux. Now they only issue i'm having is that the sound notification is not working eh. I to the message.wav from the soulseek NS from my windows hdd and have it on my linux hdd I use the message.wav in the default i also just set everything to that wav file message.wav, and I don't hear and notification sound at all and yes my sould works eh.. but its quite weird that its not working, yes wav sound file works i tested it out the file to in my linux system.

I'm just wondering if anyone having this issue, i think you just like just intergrate the message.wav into the client itself , i mean if that is possible.

please help or any solution would be great,

Thank You,

You're right, there appears to be no easy and reliable way to play sound files across the different platforms. Sound notifications work very well for me on Windows, but not at all on my Debian machine. There are alternative methods to getting sound files to play in Qt, but they all appear to be much more complicated or require additional libraries that I'm loathe to use just for one simple thing. I'm afraid there's not much I can do to help with this problem until I find a solution I'm happy with.

Thanks, Nir
