Control by provider

Another user told me yesterday that he had received a warning from his provider. He had to stop using Soulseek because this program was on the black list of the provider.
My question is if my provider can see that I use Soulseek? Are there other users who have experienced this or heard of this?

Any idea who the provider was? If your ISP is monitoring your connection they should be able to tell if you're connecting to our server, but if they have a problem with that they could just as easily block access to our server IP address. Frankly I don't think your ISP has the right to tell you what to do with your connection if you're not using it maliciously. I believe net neutrality laws in the US make this type of interference illegal.

Thanks Nir for you answer. I will forward it to the user who has been warned.
