Hi MrInternational
I'm not into Mac (and never will) but have you tried nicotine+ just as comparison? I've read quite a lot of bad new from newest OSX Versions. When you set up n+ with the same downloads/names/Setting/shares it should behave very similar to SLSKqt.
From my POV I'd say it's an unmasked problem with the used QT library but Nir's the one who could tell.
Cheers

Thanks for the response. My search did not yield anything but old information and a download page that had intricate instructions for a manual install. I don't know the whole picture here, so I guess I should start looking around for an old windows laptop.
If I am looking in the wrong place, please let me know, any additional information would be grateful.

Hi
my error: n+ was never ported (officially) to OSX. soulseeX was the client I heard about. Best thing is to wait until Nir or some other OSX supporter had time to review your thread. Switching to another OS just for testing is the wrong direction=> detecting and fixing the problem is the right one.
Cheers

I recently did a new install of Windows 7 64-bit on my PC and am now experiencing big time issues with Soulseek. I say now because before I did the fresh install Soulseek was stable.
Back to now though, each time I use the program it crashes and comes up with a Microsoft Runtime Error message. I don't know what that means or how to solve the problem. Nothing on Google or any threads on this forum seem to help. One thread said download and unzip Dr Ming to generated a crash report, couldn't make that work. Also tried removing anything containing C++ or Microsoft Runtime - no effect. The other thing I tried was a clean reboot, hiding all the Microsoft stuff...again no effect.
Suffice to say I'm at a loss on what to do and how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi
did U try running it as admin as well (right click on the executable-start as admin)? The crash report is quite uninteresting without a deep knowledge of the OS around. Have U tried creating another (windows user) profile and test it there again with the same settings? SLSK runs pretty stable (all V2015 and 2016) on windows, else the forum would be full of such reports (around 100k Users each day and lets say 50% of it under Windows XP...Win10. OSX seems a bit odd, but that seems more a problem of new features in el capitan. My Linux version never ever crashed up to now...
Cheers
