Bug fix

The enD's picture

After you close the program and open it again, files in the "Downloads" section cannot be opened with double click or right click > Open File.

Are you sure? I'm not having that problem over here. Could just be that the files were moved after they were downloaded.

I download a music file, double click and it plays, close SSQT, then run it immediately after that, click on the same file again, it's does absolutely nothing.

When you say it plays, what does the music file play in?
What OS are you on?

The enD's picture

AIMP3, the program that is associated to all my music files. I am using Windows 7
Here is the thing I just found out. I have a bunch of finished songs, from which only two play. The difference in them is they are in a single folder, rather than in my big download folder
Example:
D:\Music\DL from SS\CD 1 -------- plays
D:\Music\DL from SS -------- doesn't plays

I guess you could try selecting the option in SS to not use download/incomplete? or if that is selected, maybe de-select?

I am using QT

Yes, those options I mentioned are in your options tab.
But it looks like Nir is already on the case so - all should be well soon! :)

Just found another bug.
I rarely download whole albums so I like to put all my music in a big folder, so I have it checked "Don't create subfolders for single downloads" and "Don't put downloads in Downloading and Complete folders".
I start downloading a single song and let's say it's at 5%, close SoulSeek and open it again. The song continues to download this time tho in a separate folder and I end up having two files - one at 5% at my big folder and another at 100% at a singular folder.

Good catch, the 'single download' attribute doesn't get saved across sessions. I suspect it may be causing both of the problems you're describing. I'll post a test version here later today.

Thanks, Nir

Here we go, let me know if the problems persist:

Everything is fixed now, thank you. :)

Another thing that bugs me(but is not a bug =), is it intended for the list of files in Downloads to take up three separate lines for a single file? Looks very inefficient to me. All that info can be put on a single line.

I like how it can keep track of my queue and organize by user or folder, it keeps things very neat. But you don't have to, you could always un-expand both users and folders in your queue window. That would help at least keep everything on one line, although you won't be able to see much info but that's the trade off. :)

That's one of the things I loved when I switched to the new Qt client, was that my queue could finally be collapsed and kept neat when I have a very active queue with many users.

The enD's picture

Un-expanding anything hides the file name.

That's precisely what I meant when I wrote "you won't be able to see much info" - but that was the trade off. Keeping everything on one neat line, or letting Soulseek organize your queue according to user and folder.

Are you able to create a crash report?

What is the client doing when it locks up or spikes in CPU? Are you searching, downloading, that sort of thing.
